"Mark Miller is the best bluesman in the country"
remarked Brad Delp (lead singer for Boston)."Mark Miller is the best
bluesman in the country". Miller played guitar for Delp for three
years and is thought of in New England as the region's legendary
(blues/acoustic) guitarist for decades.
Clean and connected best describes Mark's style. He is continually
evolving, changing, and expanding his repertoire. His mastery of the
guitar allows him to capture a sound that is both spontaneous and
emotional. Born in the northern Maine town of Houlton and raised in
East Millinocket, Maine, Mark has been playing guitar since he was
six years old, and for more than 45 years Mark Miller made his
living by playing guitar.
In high school he had a band playing top 40. Later he played with a
number of prominent bands as a "hired gun," did studio work in
Nashville for numerous CDs, then he came back to Maine music scene.
He studied Music Education at the University of Maine at Augusta.
His accomplishments include opening for national acts, including
Johnny Winter, Taj Mahal, Peter Wolf, Pat Travers, Waylon Jennings
and others. He's played onstage with Dick Curless, Buddy Spicher,
Jimmy Day, Debbie Davies, Johnny Rawls, Jimmy Johnson, James
Montgomery, and Brad Delp with whom he performed at the Boston Music
Awards. |
